I spent all day yesterday traipsing around Brighton University talking to lecturers about whether they'd like to write a book. I know the weather is particularly grim at the moment, but the experience was utterly dispiriting regardless; on the sixth floor a lecturer pointed at the dishwater horizon and told me glumly that she can see the sea in summer. I thought it possible she might jump.
So I suspect a more realistic headline might ask 'Were University Lecturers Killed By Boredom?'
